{SHOES} Weathering the Storm

source: Goop; shop: Zappos; L.L Bean
It's been a stormy winter this year, and lordy knows how hard
it is getting from place-to-place in slush, snow, puddles etc...
Waterproof boots were always a lifesaver, and nowadays there are
so many stylish options! Utility & Style~

{DIVA} Excuse Me + Push Button by Gong Hyojin

Gong Hyojin has just launched her own shoe line & she looks pretty
fabulous in them. I'm diggin her leather studded boots & suede booties~

{SHOES} If I were a boy...

NY Mag, David Slijper; Fine and Dandy;

{STYLE} Oxfords & Brogues

I've definitely been diggin' the Brogues & Oxfords trend, as you can see.
I like how you can pair them with some bf trousers, shorts, skinny jeans or mini skirts.
Big fan of the androgynous style! I'm so happy to have snagged my Stuart Weitzman
keyhole oxfords. They've quickly become my new flats~

{OUTFIT} Feels like Spring...

shoes: Frye, jeans: Earnest Sewn, shirt: Zara, hat: Forever 21, watch: Clyde
The sun still shines brightly, but the temperatures have gone down just a bit,
bringing in a nice chill at 68 degrees. A steady Saturday lies ahead...a few
hours devoted to studying, alongside, some delicious pastries from one of
my fave Korean bakeries, Paris Baguette.

{RAVE} Green Gone Wild!

For the past year (thanks to my beauty guru, aka my big sis) I have been trying
my best to use alternative beauty & bath products that don't contain parabens of
any sort (which btw has been outlawed in certain countries in Europe already) &
lauryl sulfates. There's a bunch more, but I have no idea sometimes and trust
whatever's on Vitacost (my go-to website for any "green" product!) So far, I've
tried Organix shampoo (from CVS; $6.99), but aside from the smell, it didn't do
much for my hair. Desert Essence works much better, & the smell isYUMMY!
Looove the Grape, which reminds me of Korean grape candy. Aubrey Organics also
did fab things for my hair, but the scents are more herbal-y. And what would I do
without Dr.Bronner's liquid soap?! They're foamy, smell great & last longer than
expected. And recently sprung on Nature's Gate toothpaste (over Tom's) since it has no
lauryl sulfates & sweeteners~ Despite the major differences in consistency & texture,
I like organic/natural products more so because they tend to be less harsh & less suspect.
I don't regret making the switch one bit, and wish I'd done it sooner!

Big fan of the Rose scent! Floral & fresh~

{RAVE} A Home away from home...

Natura Spa...O' how I love thee~ I am here, as we speak, enjoying
the lovely fast wireless, since the one back home is Stone Age speed.
I'm a big fan of this place! It's more of a bathing spa, rather than a
sauna spa (jjim-jil-bang). I'm all about bathing & exfoliation. I enjoy
watching the rolls of greenish dirty outer layer of skin rub off as I scrub away...
I feel so much lighter & squeaky clean. AND the food here is delicious!
Ate "mi-yuhk-gook" (seaweed soup), which is supposed to be the best food to eat
after the sauna~ Mmm, heated jade seating area...warms my bootay real good as I
sit here writing this entry.
Totally recommend these two scrubbing staples! 100x better
than any overpriced loofah. Check out your local Japanese or
Korean market for the best prices :)
(not me btw...) My all-time fave thing about Korean Spas: SCRUB!

{MUSING} It's all an Illusion...

G-Dragon's bed sheets :) clever but kinda freaky~
She said no flowers, so he brought her freshly peeled carrots :)

Can you be with someone without actually being with that person? It's
like "I wanna be in you, but not with you..." hmm...interesting. Friends w/
benefits always seemed like something modern, non-committal people
concocted in an attempt to normalize their neurotic, insecurely attached
ways. But what the f*ck do I know?! I'm a total noob when it comes to
anything related to sex/love/relationships. My take: the whole concept is way
easier said than done. Because seriously... is any one ever really cool enough
to get into a sexual relationship with no strings attached? What does this
even mean?! And the film,  "No Strings Attached" further disproved the myth.
In the end, real feelings inevitably get in the way. ANYHOOT!
Natalie Portman was gorgeous as usual, and Ashton & she looked damn cute
together---Brunette-Americana poster-couple. And Lake Bell, Kevin Kline &
Mindy Kaling added some much needed comic relief. Apparently, Mila Kunis
& Justin Timberlake are coming out with a film called "Friends with Benefits,"
hmm...kinda want to check it out. I'm suddenly getting very excited by this
topic of extra-friendly friendships~ Yay :D or Nay -_- ???

{OUTFIT} New Nude Tude~

blazer: H&M, shirt: Club Monaco, jeans: UO Silence&Noise, shoes: Banana Republic, Nail polish: Rescue Beauty Lounge
Figured out one way to wear the new peachy-tan jacket from H&M :)
I'm totally loving how the inside is lined with pale pink~ The tencel fabric
feels pretty niiice & it's "made from a natural and renewable resource..."
so yay, go H&M! All these closeups of my shoes remind me that I should
clean the insoles & take better care of my bebes. Kinda dirrrty, yahh?!
Style-inspiration: fashion-nerdic
I def did not look as fab as her, but I tried ;p

{FOOD} Sushi & Sweets in Little Tokyo

422 East 2nd Street Los Angeles, CA; (213) 617-0552
Today, the family had a delicious sushi lunch at our favorite sushi restaurant in Downtown
L.A, Sushi Gen, where the fish is fresh, the menu & prices well-matched & the food,
absolutely yummy. Best of all, their rice is top-notch (yummy til' the last grain) & the nori
is super-fresh. Guaranteed delicious food when eating with the parents :)
Lunch order:
Salmon Collar Lunch, Sushi Deluxe, $15;
Unaju & Sashimi, $19;
Sushi Deluxe Combo, $21;
Salmon skin hand roll, $5.
To finish it off, delicious sweets @ Frances Bakery, a few stores down. They offer
just the classics (macarons too!), and their cakes are moist (I looove cake~), not too sweet
& damn scrumptious. Their choco-hazelnut cake & Napoleon are highly recommended :D

{SHOES} Black for Spring

Alexander Wang always manages to design the hottest, bad-ass heels, and this
season is no different. The famous Freja is back, revamped with newer details,
but my personal faves are the Oxfords, especially the nude (fab color!). I dig
Wang's whole fierce, androgyny look, and I wish I could afford his fab line, but alas...
I'll have to wait until I make me some real $$$. Til then...ogling online will suffice~
