{EAT} L'AS DU FALAFEL
The fried eggplants (somewhere in there...) were delicious! Love their sauces...Mmm
tasty harissa hot sauce
I had never thought much of falafels until I at at L'as du Falafel (located in the Marais on Rue de Rosiers, reknown Jewish neighborhood in Paris). From then on, I crave this delicious Mid-East treat, and have eaten a falafel pita sandwich at least once a week for the past month at Muma on Melrose. Though they're delicious, they aren't a fair substitute. Taim in NYC however, is probably hands down the BEST I've tasted so far. The Harissa falafels are so friggin goooood...
{MUSING+STYLE} Traveling in Style
luxirare
Inspired by her recent travels, Luxirare has created yet another useful and pretty badass
travel tote. Equipped with all sorts of compartments, you can pack all your modern travel
necessities in an orderly fashion. It's not available to purchase *tear* but hopefully it will be
some time soon! She shoots amazing photos and evidently has a very cool eye for things.
It's always very interesting to see where she gets her ideas from and how these handmade
accessories get crafted.

{SHOES} Giraffe Stilettos
Pink giraffes on the streets; fashion editor rockin' them LV's - jakandjil
Louis Vuitton's bold Spring 2011 collection (Indochine meets Safari?) features
these crazily creative shoes with hoof detail on the heel (clearly not geared
for comfort, but oh well~). Look out for a giraffe and zebra, and a simpler
version with just the stiletto-hoof detail.
A very bright and exotic look this Spring season~ via style
{MUSING+SHOES} Kiss and the City
I discovered a new show online at bada.us the other day. It's called "Kiss and the City,"
Korea's tamed version of the beloved Sex and the City. In this version, the camera follows
the four actresses behind the scenes and onscreen where they play best friends living in Seoul.
The main character is Park Sohyun, who plays a 30-something freelance DJ desperate to find
true love. Other characters include Shim EunJin, a hip and stylish CEO of a cosmetics
company, Shin Jooah, an icy, man-eater in car sales, and Yoon Jimin, a Type A, plastic
surgeon. It's actually entertaining and very interesting since it's supposed to speak and
relate to Korean women. Although certain things get lost in translation, it's still fun to
watch. Here's the link to watch the first 2 episodes~ I like Shim Eunjin's style the best,
and the camera-person knows how to work the lens and shows a lot of shoe-shots.
And pretty fab shoes indeed ~

{FOOD} M-is for Macarons...
Vanilla & Mont Blanc
mostly vanilla; passionfruit, green apple, raspberry, pistachio, grape, choco, caramel, ???
special flower girl macarons box; macarons lunch box to maintain freshness
I shall end this Monday with an entry on cute and delectable macarons.
French macarons are crispy-light on the outside & super sweet on the inside.
As boring as it sounds, my favorite is vanilla. Angelina's macarons were delicious
as well! (yumm to their signature Mont Blanc flavor) Meaning Laduree isn't the only
place in Paris with noteworthy macarons. Au Bon Marche's gourmet market,
La Grande Epicerie also has tasty mini macarons in various flavors at around a $1/piece.
These little sweets are definitely pricey, but surely considered a patisserie delicacy.
Here are some recipe links if you ever decide to make them on your own.

{COOKING} First Sunday Benedict
Yolk? Usually not my thing. But Eggs Benedict make me a yolk-believer.
How the poached egg and its sunny center combine with the creamy and rich
hollandaise sauce make my taste buds sing. After numerous disappointments of
salty, over complicated E.B at various L.A eateries, I decided to make it at home
today for the first time. Results? The hollandaise consistency wasn't quite there
(this was the 3rd batch after 2 failed attempts), the yolk was just a tiny bit overcooked
(I passed the 4 min. cook point -_-), and the bread a bit too hard. The whole dish in total
tasted slightly sour, as well... Could the dash of vinegar in the boiling water make
my poached eggs sort of sour? Or could it be the overuse of lemon juice in the
sauce or maybe it's the sourdough? Guess I will find out with my next try.
In this recipe I used:
-Sourdough bread (half slice)
-1 slice of Canadian style ham
~ 1/4 stick of Kerry Gold unsalted butter
-1 Trader Joe's extra-large organic egg (yolk only; white is separated) + dash of water
- dash of lemon juice
- sprinkle of Celtic sea salt

{RAVE} "The Man from Nowhere...아저씨" --- Won Bin
O-M-G...I want to go watch this again...!!! "Ahjushi" (The Man from Nowhere), Lee JungBeom's new film starring Won Bin, definitely leaves an impact. I'm a fan of vigilante stories, and after watching it (at the new CGV in K-Town. Going here to watch Korean movies from now on~), I couldn't help but think about the movie constantly. Hmm...perhaps just fantasizing...Won Bin's hot and intense performance in his first film as the bona fide solo lead, and all I can say is...WoW...what a perfect role for him. He did all of his own stunts as well. (Super hot!) I hope he continues to do more films, and that the rest of the world realizes his great talent and dreamy, one-of-a-hot-kind looks.
fantastic debut by this little gemI'm kind of totally into the uber masculine type and couldn't help but be mesmerized by his manly brutish force, his deep yet gentle voice, and his pretty yet ruggedly handsome looks. As he runs around kickin ass on his quest to save the little girl, all I could think of was "Save ME PLEASE!"
This film contains a lot of violence and gritty gore, but unlike most action flicks. it makes you feel something right here *points to heart* no seriously...I almost cried a few times. This film is out on limited release in the US, but hopefully will hit theatres nationwide very soon. Find out if it's playing near you, and watch it! You'll be entertained in the least.
This man is BEAUTIFUL!

{MUSING} Go Green ~ Bike it.
Fantastic legs!
These women mean serious business. Platform sandals + moped = hotness
photos: the sartorialist
My two fave bike accessories: Cognac-colored seats & straw baskets
Awesome legs!
Bike riding has known to be one of the best forms of exercise, not horrible to the
knees and fantastic for your legs. I'm still scared diddly when it comes to riding a
bike in LA, but hopefully one day...These chic and stylish women show us that
it's indeed possible to opt for non-Tour-de-France biking gear and ride your bike
in style. Flats are definitely the shoe-of-choice. A Mini and bike-riding though?
That takes balls, or rather the lack thereof...
